I have always been fascinated and easily moved by the natural world, and am often in the right place at the right time. I’m a seasonal field biologist (usually studying birds), so I work and play outside. My approach to photography is a bit unconventional. I don’t often seek opportunities out, I don’t usually go on a photographic quest. I prefer to let photographic moments happen organically. If I don’t have my camera with me or if I miss a shot, I soak up the experience, appreciating the memory and moment. Each photo has a story behind it, and I enjoy sharing that with others. I realize there are a heap of photos on this site, and I’ve tried to weed them down, and I have, but the photos chosen here are memories and experiences I feel the need to share.
I’m nomadic by nature, and have worked, lived, and traveled all over the United States. This has given me ample opportunity to photograph and experience what I love and respect: the wild and natural world, our public lands, the animals and plants that call this incredible place home. It is our duty to respect and protect these treasures.
I hope my passion is easily conveyed through my photography. No wildlife is contained or restrained in any way. All wildlife is wild.
